Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American Actor, best known as a star of the well-known TV series 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. In college, he began to take an interest in acting. While at the University of Colorado at Boulder, he studied acting. While he's appeared on both television and films but it was his character in the smaller screen which brought him fame and a large fans. He has the ability to portray both characters from the side of the police as well as the different. This is the reason that makes him so popular. He played the character of the serial killer on his first television project as well as later portrayed of an NYPD detective. He has been nominated multiple times for the highly coveted Emmy Awards and the PRISM Awards for his small screen performances. The piercingly blue eyes of his face have been deemed as the most captivating aspect of his appearance. These have been used to depict rough characters and make them more appealing. People's magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive for 2006.
